It's sooo much fun, I wish I had enough space to build my own course. That was the first time I had ever seen my Shibas so worked up. Mine really enjoyed it when they got to try it with the local JRT club on their practice. The course was the full box and keyhole shape and they were exhausted after a few runs. I checked around in my area, and most clubs offer fun days and practices where non sight hounds can do runs. Also, when AKC has trials/shows, the clubs often offer fun runs for non sight hounds at the event. Dr. Harvey said that every protein source has different amino acids, so it's best to switch the proteins that you use. I have been making Snick and Seeky's food almost exclusively with salmon or tuna for the past few years, but I'm going to start using beef, chicken and lamb also. It is pretty much that simple. He's got such an incredible prey drive. Our friend, a NYC detective and K9 trainer, was amazed at the focus Kaiser has when I'm working with him and he's completely driven by wanting to run down and "kill" his ball. I think a lure course would be fantastic for him.
