- I have been awake for 3 hours.
- I’ve had breakfast with my daughter.
- I’ve had my first cup of coffee.
- I’ve probably dropped off, or picked up, my laundry or my dry cleaning.
- I’ve spent time with at least two of my good friends.
- I have walked 1.5 miles.
- I’m usually hungry for my second breakfast already.
If we were still sans dog, this list would look like this…
- I’ve been awake for 45 minutes.
- I’ve glimpsed my daughter in passing as I stumbled into the shower.
- I have walked .7 miles.
- I’ve incoherently purchased my breakfast and coffee on the way to the office.
I think I’m better off with the dog. Although I’m sure similar lists (say, about house cleaning or free time) might seem to slant the other way. 🙂

Snick is your personal trainer.

I must have the wrong breed of dog. I wake up and do my writing in the moring and she sleeps in. 🙂

David – Maybe you just have Jordan better trained than I have Snickers! 🙂 Truthfully, Snick is pretty good. He chills out in the morning while I shower and dress. Then he eats breakfast with T and me before I take him to the dog run. I got into the habit of taking him to the run for an hour or so every morning when he was a puppy (to make sure he was happily tired when I left for work) and the routine just kind of stuck. We run errands on the way there most mornings. I have my coffee there with my “dog run friends” and by the time I drop him at home and head to the office, I’ve gotten my day off to a pretty busy start!
