awwwww, Snick!!! Wolf was doing this weird thing this morning…he was licking at nothing and twitching his paw, and he wasn’t asleep. I got all paranoid, thought he was having a seizure or something!

The hardest part of having a companion animal is eventually losing them. 🙁
Janet – Shibas are so sensitive about their paws. Maybe something was irritating it? I know where you are coming from; Any weird behavior from Snick can push my panic button.
My GSD is now 10 years old, with fairly bad arthritis in her hips, back, and feet. Otherwise she’s slim and trim and in super condition, but I can see how the arthritis has taken its toll. Even on a lifetime of Cosequin, and now with daily Rimadyl, I can tell it’s harder for her to get up in the morning, harder to climb the stairs, etc. I always figured that if I was really diligent about her health care she could live to be 14 or even 15, but I’m starting to realize that her skeleton is probably going to wear out before the rest of her does. I really think that we might be down to our last couple of years together, which is a point I never dreamed would arrive, and I’m trying to be very diligent about appreciating her every day, playing catch when she asks, etc. I know we don’t usually take our pets for granted, but sometimes I think we take time for granted, and I’m trying to be very conscious of the time right now.
I’ve been meaning to ask… is Snickers stylish in denim, or is that part of a person behind him?

LOL. That is my daughter’s shoulder behind him. He was actually sitting with his butt on my leg and his front feet on her leg. We were having our picture taken for our holiday card. That was the best picture of HIM, but not so good of the two of us. We were sitting in a different spot in the the one that actually made it onto the card.

That’s how I felt about my Shubi. May she rest in peace.
