Well… I’ve decided not to keep her. As much as Snick and I love her, I can’t handle – or afford – another full time dog. Shayna isn’t getting the leash training or the attention that she needs. I realized my primary reason for wanting to keep her was to keep Snickers company and that just isn’t enough of a reason. If there was another human in the house to give Shayna the kind of loving she wants, I would find a way to make the money piece work, but there isn’t. When I have more time for another dog, then Snick and I will adopt a friend for him, but not right now. In the meantime, we will find Shayna an awesome home and we’ll foster every now and then (with sanity breaks for me in between).
Hi! I think that is a very wise decision. A dog needs a LOT of attention and guidance, or is that just Shiba’s 😀
Good luck finding Shayna a new home, I don’t think it will be too difficult for such a sweety.
You obviously thought this through very well, and I commend you for putting her interests first. She will make someone a wonderful companion, and I have no doubt you will find the perfect home for her.
awwwww…I’m sorry. Good luck finding her a new home 🙂
I think you made the right choice, two Shiba’s are a handful for one person, I have two it’s alot of work…
I know that was a tough decision to make, but given the circumstances, I think it’s the right one. Plus, it keeps you available to foster again which, as you know, is the perpetual quest of rescues everywhere… finding good foster homes!
although I did sit in the adoption camp, I am sure you will find her the home she needs and hopefully Snickers will still get to see her every now and then .
bummer.
You’ve more than prepared her for a forever family. So though you’ll miss her… You did a wonderful thing for her. =)
i will miss the wonderful fuzzy that i love 🙁
