We’re Going Lure Coursing!!!

details and directions

In August, Snickers tried lure coursing for the first time and LOVED IT. I immediately (literally, within minutes of his first three runs) started searching and emailing to find a way to get involved in lure coursing. I got really lucky. My first email was to the American Sighthound Field Association regional director for this […]

How to Find a Reputable Breeder

So many people buy puppies from pet stores and back yard breeders because they don’t know any better, but then – even worse – people who DO know better, to some degree, get frustrated and impatient and end up buying a dog from a less than ideal source because they don’t want to wait. Here’s info on how to find a good breeder and why your puppy will be worth the wait.

Fido’s Fest, Dr. Harvey Cohen, and LURE COURSING!

Snickers and I spent last weekend at Fido’s Festival in Woodstown, NJ. Mr. Murphy Has Left The Building

Murphy went home tonight! Murphy is technically my MSIR foster dog, but my sister has really been the one fostering him since I left Indiana almost five months ago. On one hand he’s been an easy keeper for her; he gets along with her dogs, they eat the same food, he’s easy going. But on […]

Visiting Shayna: A Foster Mom’s Reward

Shayna, Shiba Inu

I’ve been personally involved with the lives of many rescued Shiba Inus since founding NYC Shiba Rescue two years ago and I’ve felt varying amounts of affection for each and every one of them. Every dog is an individual (just like people) and there’s almost always something lovable about each of them (maybe not so […]

Interesting News Story Regarding HSUS

WSBTV in Atlanta aired the following expose’ regarding the Humane Society of the United States. Apparently, they’ve removed it from their website after pressure from HSUS and they’ve posted a clarification. Note the clarification only addresses one small piece of the story. Apparently, the rest of the story stands.
